Philosophy of the Program
To produce doctoral graduates who are leaders in research in the field of industrial engineering and capable of disseminating new, beneficial knowledge to society.
Significance of the Program
The Doctor of Philosophy Program in Industrial Engineering is committed to achieving international standards in program and graduate quality. The program defines desired graduate characteristics and learning outcomes to align with global standards for doctoral-level industrial engineers. It emphasizes systematic learning and research, equipping students with skills to identify, analyze, and apply fundamental knowledge to solve complex engineering problems. Graduates are trained to communicate and present solutions effectively in both Thai and English, uphold ethical values, work independently, and collaborate efficiently within culturally diverse teams.
Furthermore, the program develops doctoral graduates to produce research or create new knowledge in industrial engineering and disseminate beneficial insights to society. Graduates are expected to become experts contributing to national and international economic development.
Program Objectives
- To produce doctoral graduates with the ability to identify problems, analyze challenges, and apply fundamental knowledge to solve complex engineering issues.
- To ensure continuity in research output, foster new knowledge creation, and disseminate industrial engineering insights, promoting collaboration and knowledge exchange at both national and international levels.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have completed a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering or an equivalent field with a minimum GPA of 3.50 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent. The Master’s thesis must be graded as good or excellent (or equivalent).
Additional qualifications are as specified in the annual announcement by the Graduate School or as deemed appropriate by the Program Management Committee.

Program Schedule
The program follows a semester system:
First Semester: August – December
Second Semester: January – May
Summer Session: June – July
- Applicants must also complete the application form specific to the Department of Industrial Engineering (see below attached document) and include supporting documents, such as two recommendation letters from an advisor or supervisor.
- Before applying, applicants should have a preliminary thesis idea and must consult with a dissertation advisor to discuss the initial topic, which will be included in the application.Applicants currently in their final semester of study must provide proof of graduation during the first registration day. Admission is contingent upon meeting the specified GPA requirements and graduating successfully.
- Round 1: February – March
- Round 2: April – May
- Submit CU-TEP scores to the Department of Industrial Engineering by May, prior to the interview.
- Applicants without English proficiency scores will not be admitted.
- Announcement of Eligible Candidates for Examination: Mid-May (via Graduate School website, or by email at admission.iecu@gmail.com).
- Admission Results Announcement: Mid-October (via Graduate School website, or by email at admission.iecu@gmail.com).
