The Department of Industrial Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, is pleased to announce the appointment of Assoc. Prof. Anawat Suppasri, Ph.D., from the International Research Institute of Disaster Science (IRIDeS), Tohoku University, Japan, as an Adjunct Professor of the department. He will serve under the Center of Excellence in Disaster and Risk Management Information Systems (DRMIS Center), working alongside Assoc. Prof. Natt Leelawat, D.Eng., head of the center.
Assoc. Prof. Anawat Suppasri is a leading scholar in tsunami engineering and disaster risk reduction, with extensive contributions to international disaster research and policy. His appointment marks a significant step in strengthening the department’s global academic network and enhancing its research capacity in disaster and risk management.
Through this collaboration, the DRMIS Center aims to expand joint research projects, develop advanced disaster information systems, and promote international academic exchange between Thailand and Japan. The partnership will also support student development through seminars, workshops, and collaborative field studies.
