On August 30, 2025, the Toronto International Society of Innovation & Advanced Skills (TISIAS), Canada, hosted the 10th Annual Edition of the International Invention Innovation Competition in Canada (iCAN 2025). The competition attracted 802 applications from 62 countries and regions.
Congratulations to Assoc. Prof. Natt Leelawat, D.Eng., Mr. Isoon Chanchongkham, Mr. Prarunchai Ruttanaprasert, Mr. Teerawat Riensuwon, Mr. Maykey Mekworawuth, Mr. Tanadeach Oumimpuech, and Mr. Pithawat Komolpis from the Department of Industrial Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University; and Dr. Jing Tang from the Chulalongkorn School of Integrated Innovation (CSII), for winning 2 Gold Medals and 4 Special Awards.

The project titled “Building Fire Evacuation Strategy Improvement using Agent-Based Simulation,” by Assoc. Prof. Natt Leelawat, D.Eng. (Associate Professor, Department of Industrial Engineering, Chula Engineering), Dr. Jing Tang (Lecturer, CSII), Mr. Isoon Chanchongkham, Mr. Prarunchai Ruttanaprasert, and Mr. Teerawat Riensuwon (Students, Department of Industrial Engineering, Chula Engineering), won the Gold Medal at iCAN 2025. Additionally, this project received the TISIAS Special Award from the Toronto International Society of Innovation & Advanced Skills, and the National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest, Romania, Special Award. This project explores the improvement method for the current fire evacuation plan to understand the people’s behavior through agent-based modeling.

The project titled “Immersive Solution for Tsunami Evacuation in Phuket,” by Dr. Jing Tang (Lecturer, CSII), Assoc. Prof. Natt Leelawat, D.Eng. (Associate Professor, Department of Industrial Engineering, Chula Engineering), Mr. Maykey Mekworawuth, Mr. Tanadeach Oumimpuech, and Mr. Pithawat Komolpis (Undergraduate students, Department of Industrial Engineering, Chula Engineering), won the Gold Medal at iCAN 2025. Additionally, this project received the TISIAS Special Award from the Toronto International Society of Innovation & Advanced Skills and the First Institute of Inventors and Researchers in I.R. IRAN (FIRI) International Special Award. This project integrated virtual reality with the revised 3D model of Phuket, allowing an immersive environment for tsunami evacuation.
