Japanese Professor and EARTH Members Hold a Meeting on the 2025 Mandalay Earthquake Impacts at the Industrial Engineering Department, Chula Engineering

On April 30, 2025, delegates from Japan visited Thailand to hold a collaborative meeting with the Earthquake Research Center of Thailand (EARTH) to discuss the recent 2025 Mandalay/Myanmar earthquake and its potential regional impacts. The meeting was conducted at the Department of Industrial Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, with the support from the Center of Excellence in Disaster and Risk Management Information Systems of Chulalongkorn University (under the lead of Assoc. Prof. Natt Leelawat, D.Eng.).

The meeting features researchers from both Japanese and Thai institutions. From Japan, the participating experts include:

  • Prof. Yoshihisa Maruyama – Chiba University
