


From October 28 to November 4, 2025, the Student Affairs Division of Chulalongkorn University Demonstration School (Elementary Section) – Satit Chula organized a training program under the theme “Be Prepared, Stay Safe: Understanding Accidents Before They Happen.” The initiative aimed to strengthen students’ knowledge and emergency response skills, covering all levels from kindergarten to Grade 6.
The sessions focused on appropriate actions during a fire emergency and safety procedures during an earthquake.
The training was led by invited speakers from the Center of Excellence in Disaster and Risk Management Information System (DRMIS), Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University. The team of experts included:
- Prof. Dr. Natt Leelawat, Associate Professor in Industrial Engineering and Head of DRMIS Center
- Jing Tang, Lecturer at the Chulalongkorn School of Integrated Innovation (CSII) and DRMIS researcher
- Kumpol Saengtabtim, Postdoctoral researcher in Industrial Engineering
- Penpitcha Arayachookiat, Research Assistant at DRMIS Center
Their interdisciplinary expertise helped translate complex disaster management concepts into accessible knowledge for young learners.

Cultivating a Safety Culture
This training not only equipped students with practical emergency response skills but also fostered a culture of safety within the school. It served as a foundation for essential life skills that will benefit youth in the long term.

The program reflects a meaningful collaboration between Chulalongkorn University Demonstration School (Elementary Section) and Chula Engineering, showcasing how academic knowledge in disaster risk management can be applied for the benefit of education and society.
